Kyle Merritt MacLachlan is an American actor and director best known for his work in film and television. He was born in Yakima, Washington, United States, on February 22, 1959. Kyle began her acting in 1984 when he was cast as the protagonist Paul Atreides in the sci-fi-action film Dune. He has since been a regular on the TV series Joe vs. Carole, Atlantic Crossing, Carol's Second Act, Portlandia, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Believe, How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, and Sex and the City, but he is best known for starring in the series Twin Peaks alongside Michael Ontkean, Mädchen Amick, Lara Flynn Boyle, Michael Horse, and Laura Dern. His filmography includes The House With a Clock in Its Walls, The Flintstones, The Doors, Showgirls, The Hidden, and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Kyle won a Golden Globes Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama, a Saturn Award at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for Best Actor on Television, and an INOCA Award for Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie.
