In 2006, singer Elly Jackson came together with producer Ben Langmaid to form the synthpop duo La Roux in England. Together, La Roux released their debut album La Roux in 2009, which won a Grammy Award for the singles featured such as “Bulletproof” and “In for the Kill”. “Bulletproof” sold more than 2 million copies internationally. In the summer of 2009, La Roux toured North America, appearing at festivals such as Lollapalooza and the All Points West Music & Arts Festival. After a few years’ hiatus, La Roux released their second album titled Trouble in Paradise in the summer of 2014, yet Ben Langmaid announced his departure from the group amidst the promotions for the album. Elly Jackson, however, stayed as the solo member and kept the name.
