Lady A Bio
Formed in 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum) is a country music group that needs no introduction. The group consists of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood. The trio first started out as indie artists but their major breakthrough came after scoring a deal with Capitol Records in 2008. Their first album Lady Antebellum was released in the same year and debuted Number One on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts. Their notable albums include Need You Now (2010), Own the Night (2011), On This Winter’s Night (2012), Golden (2013), 747 (2014), Heart Break (2017), and Ocean (2019). The group has accumulated several prestigious awards and accolades including 7 Grammy Awards, 9 American Country Awards, 8 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 6 Country Music Association Awards. In June 2020, the trio changed their name to Lady A in an effort to distance themselves from the slavery connotations held by the word “antebellum”.
