Lakeith Stanfield is an American actor and rapper born in San Bernardino, California on August 12, 1991. He is best known for his roles in The Purge: Anarchy, Get Out, and War Machine. He is also a member of the band The Moors. His acting career started in 2009 in the short film Short Term 12 that won an award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. For a few years he gave up acting to pursue other work, but was contacted by the filmmaker of Short Term 12 to make a full length feature film. He would go on to be in other films like, The Purge:Anarchy, Selma, Straight Outta Compton, Snowden, Get Out, War Machine, Death Note and others. Lakeith has also been in roles in the television series Atlanta and Random Acts of Flyness. He has been nominated for several awards throughout his career in acting, including two Black Reel Awards, an Independent Spirit Award, two GFCA Awards, an MTV Movie & TV Award, among others.
