Lance Henriksen is an American actor, voice actor, and artist born in Manhattan, New York on May 5, 1940. He is best known for his role as Bishop in the Alien film franchise and as Frank Black on the television series Millennium. After serving in the United States Navy from 1995 to 1958 he found work as a muralist and as a laborer on ships. He became a designer of theater sets and landed his first role after building the set for the production. He graduated from the Actors Studio in his early 30s and started acting in New York. He made his debut in film in 1972 in the movie It Ain’t Easy and continued landing roles in the films Dog Day Afternoon, Mansion of the Doomed, Network, The Next Man, The Visitor, Nightmares, Jagged Edge, The Terminator, Aliens, Savage Down, On Dangerous Ground and more. In 1980 he made his debut on television in the show B.A.D. Cats and has since had roles in the shows Legmen, Cagney & Lacey, Millennium, Tales from the Crypt, The X-Files, The Witches of Oz, Memphis Beat, The Blacklist, The Night Shift and others. He has also voiced characters in the video games Mass Effect, Gun, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Hearthstone, Detroit: Become Human and more. In 2011 he published his autobiography titled Not Bad for a Human – The Life and Films of Lance Henriksen.
