The heavy metal band Dio was instrumental in the formation of the rock band The Last in Line, which is a joint effort of English and American musicians. The name of the band comes from Dio's album of the same name, which was released in 1984. The album was titled The Last in Line. Following the death of frontman Ronnie James Dio in 2010, the surviving members of the band's original lineup, including drummer Vinny Appice, bassist Jimmy Bain, guitarist Vivian Campbell, and keyboardist Claude Schnell, reunited with vocalist Andrew Freeman to perform the Dio songs that they had originally recorded. Freeman also provided vocals for the performances. Heavy Crown was the band's first studio album of original material to be published since Schnell's departure, and it came out in February of 2016. The album was titled "Heavy Crown."
