Laura Veirs is a singer and songwriter born on 24th October 1973 in the United States. She is widely recognized for her outstanding music career, which includes her collaboration with musicians k.d lang and Neko Case. Although she listened to music growing up, it was not until her 20s that she developed an interest in music. After graduating from college, she decided to pursue her career in music. She released her first self-titled album in 1999. Her second album, “The Triumphs and Travails of Orphan Mae” was released in 2001.
In 2003, she released the album “Troubled by the Fire”. The following year, she signed with Nonesuch label and released her fourth studio album, “Carbon Glacier”. Her fifth album, “Year of Meteors,” was released in August 2005. The album made it to the New York Times’s list of “critic’s choice”. In 2007, she released her last album under the Nonesuch label, titled “Saltbreakers”. Veirs also released the albums “July Flame” in 2010, “Tumble Bee” in 2011, “Warp & Weft” in 2013, “The Lookout” in 2018, “My Echo” in 2020, and “Found Light” in 2022.
