Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Lauren Daigle had her first album “How Can It Be” reach number one on the Billboard Christian chart in 2015. Her follow-up, “Look Up Child” was number three on the Billboard 200. She is from Lafayette, Louisiana, where she was born on September 9th, 1991.
While in university she featured in an EP that led her to sign with Centricity Music label. She later released an EP produced by Paul Mabury, “How Can It Be”, which charted on Christian charts. Eventually it reached number 30 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and went platinum. It was nominated for a Best Contemporary Christian Music Album Grammy in 2016.
In 2016 she released a Christmas album, “Behold”. She added her single “Almost Human” to the soundtrack for Blade Runner 2049. She also got another Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for her single “Trust in You.” Her 2018 “Look Up Child” was a #3 hit in the US. She then won two Grammys, for “You Say” and “Look Up Child”.
