Laurie Holden, born Heather Laurie Holden, is an American - Canadian actress who was born on December 17, 1969, in Los Angeles, California. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and got her theater degree in 1993. She debuted as an actress when she was a child in her stepfather’s Michael Anderson series “The Martian Chronicles”. After years of acting, her first big role was as a regular character in the 1998 TV series “The Magnificent Seven”. She also appeared in “The X Files” and “The Shield”. However, her breakthrough role came in 2010 when she was elected to play Andrea in the famous TV show “The Walking Dead” working alongside Andrew Lincoln, Melissa McBride, and Norman Reedus. For this role, she earned the Best Supporting Actress award at the Saturn Awards.
