Lawrence Timmons was born in Florence, South Carolina on May 14, 1986. He went to Florida State. He made eight sacks and 126 tackles during his college career. He also received the All-American third-team and All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team honors.
He was a first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played as the linebacker of the team until 2016. He helped the Steelers in winning the Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals.
During Timmons’ rookie season with the Steelers, he made 13 tackles. He was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2014 and the second-team All-Pro in the same year.
Timmons signed a two-year deal with the Miami Dolphins in 2017. In March 2018, the Dolphins released Timmons.
