Laz Alonso was born on March 25, 1974 in Washington, D.C. He started his career appearing in music videos and hosting shows on the BET network. He had supporting roles in Stomp the Yard, Down for Life, Jarhead, G and This Christmas, among others. He gained his first major role playing the antagonist in Fast & Furious. He also played a lead character in the television show Breakout Kings. He played Na’vi warrior Tsu’tey in the blockbuster Avatar in 2009. Alonso had guest-starring roles in The Unit, Bones, CSI: Miami, NCIS, The Practice and Eyes. He later played the lead in the 2013 drama Deception and played one of the main characters in The Mysteries of Laura.
