Leon Bailey Bio
Leon Patrick Bailey is a Jamaican professional soccer player who plays as a winger for the Jamaican national team and major European soccer clubs. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on August 9, 1997. Leon spent his formative years playing for Phoenix All Stars Academy, Anif Jugend, Liefering, and AS Trenčín. He began his professional soccer career in 2015 when he signed with the Belgian club Genk. He has since played for Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen. Throughout his career with Aston Villa, Leon played alongside Tyrone Mings, Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings, and Emiliano Martinez. Leon first represented the Jamaican senior soccer team in 2019, and he has been a regular on the team ever since. Some of his accolades include the Belgian Young Professional Footballer of the Year, Bundesliga Team of the Season, and VDV Team of the Season.
