Leslie Osborne Bio

A former American soccer defensive midfielder, Leslie Marie Osborne was born on May 27, 1983. She was a former member of the United States women's national soccer team and last competed for the Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL in 2013. In 2002 and 2003, Osborne played for the American national youth teams. On January 30, 2004, she made her senior national team debut against Sweden. She replaced Shannon Boxx in the first American game of the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup and played the full 90 minutes in each of the five subsequent games. Before the 2008 Olympics, in May 2008, Osborne tore her ACL, preventing her from competing in the Beijing Olympics. She missed several games for the national team and lost her regular starting position as a result of the nearly one-year recovery from the knee injury. She had previously played in the WPS for the Boston Breakers and FC Gold Pride. In March 2014, she declared her retirement from the sport.
