LeToya Luckett is an American singer, songwriter, and actress born in Houston, Texas on March 11, 1981. She is known for being a member of the R&B girl group Destiny’s Child. During her time with the group they sold over 25 million records and won two Grammy Awards. Luckett was a feature vocalist for the group’s first two albums and singles. After leaving the group she signed a record deal with Capitol Records and in 2006 released her debut solo album titled LeToya. The album reached number one on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and was certified Platinum but the RIAA. She has since released the albums Lady Love and Back 2 Life. In 1999 she made her debut in film in the movie Beverly Hood and continued landing roles in the films Preacher’s Kid, Killers, Note to Self, Drumline: A New Beat, Seasons of Love, Lucky Girl Dionne, Down For Whatever and more. In 2011 she made her television acting debut on the show Treme and has since had roles in the shows For Richer or Poorer, Single Ladies, Ballers, Truth Be Told, Rosewood, Greenleaf, Here We Go Again, Second Generation Wayans and others.
