Linda Marie Ronstadt, born on July 15, 1946, in Tucson, Arizona, is a retired, American singer. Throughout the years of her career, Linda Ronstadt has experimented with many music styles including rock, country, Latin, and even light opera. Linda Rondstadt started her career in 1967 by becoming the lead singer of the folk-rock trio called the Stone Poneys. She would then release her debut record as a solo artist called Hand Sown…Home Grown in 1969. Linda Rondstadt has toured with major artists such as The Doors, Neil Young, and others. She has appeared six times on the cover of Rolling Stone, won ten Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, and an ALMA Award. Linda Ronstadt has released over twenty albums, many of which have been certified gold, platinum, or multiplatinum.
