Lisa Deshaun Leslie is an American retired professional basketball player and coach who played as a center in the WNBA. She was born in Compton, California, United States, on July 7, 1972.
Lisa spent her formative years playing for Morningside High School and the University of South Carolina, and she turned professional in 1997 when she was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA Draft. She spent twelve seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, and throughout her time with the Sparks, she won two WNBA Championships and played alongside Candace Parker, DeLisha Milton-Jones, Shannon Bobbitt, and Marie Ferdinand-Harris.
Lis also represented the U.S. national women’s team for over a decade, and she won gold medals at the 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Since her retirement in 2009, Lisa has been working as a basketball coach.
