Lisa J. Ling was born on 30th August, 1973 in Sacramento, California, United States. She is an author, actress, producer, journalist, and TV personality. Ling co-hosted ABC's daytime talk show “The View” from 1999 to 2002. She also hosted “Our America with Lisa Ling” and “National Geographic Explorer”. Her mission is to raise consciousness and global awareness about issues and stories that don't make the headlines like drug wars in Colombia and discussions about North Korea. Ling has worked as a special correspondent for Oprah Winfrey's show. As an author, she is known for writing “Somewhere Inside: One Sister's Captivity in North Korea and the Other's Fight to Bring Her Home” and “Mother, Daughter, Sister, Bride: Rituals of Womanhood”. In the movies, she is known for her work on “Birth, Wedding, Funeral”, “Spin City”, “Ed”, and “Phineas and Ferb”.
