Lit Bio

Lit is an American rock band hailing from Orange County, California that began together in 1995. It;s current membership includes A. Jay Popoff, Jeremy Popoff, Kevin Baldes, and Ryan Gillmor. The group’s past members include Allen Shellenberger, Nathan Walker, and Terry Stirling Jr.

The group’s musical journey began after playing with each other as a garageband, called Razzle, for a number of years. They released a demo tape and EP in 1990 entitled New Vibe Revolution. The band changed their name in 1994 to Stain and released a demo  that got them signed to the label Malicious Vinyl. They then changed their moniker to Lit. In 1997 Lit released the album Tripping the Light Fantastic

In 1998 the group signed to RCA Records and released their second album a year later called A Place in the Sun. The lead single, “My Own Worst Enemy” reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band then toured in Woodstock 1999 with bands such as The Offspring, Garbage, and No Doubt. In 2001 Lit released the album Atomic. In 2011 the group released their next album called The View from the Bottom. Lit returned in 2017 with a new album called These Are the Days.
