Liya Kebede Bio
Liya Kebede is an Ethiopian model, actress, and designer known for her work in film, on the runway, and in fashion campaigns. She was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on March 1, 1978. Liya became famous in 2000 when she performed at Tom Ford’s Gucci Fall/Winter fashion show. She has since collaborated with Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria's Secret, and Yves Saint-Laurent. As an actress, she has acted in the films The Best Officer, Lord of War, Desert Flower, Samba, City Hunter, and 419, but she is best known for starring in the drama-thriller film The Good Shepherd alongside Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin, and Eddie Redmayne. Liya won a Golden Rooster Award for Best International Actress and a Chopard Trophy at the Cannes Film Festival for Female Revelation.
