Loreena McKennitt (who was born Loreena Isabel Irene McKennitt) is a Canadian singer and songwriter who was born on February 17th 1957 in Morden, Manitoba, Canada. She was born and raised in Canada. Loreena initially wanted to be Veterinarian before she learned how to play the Celtic harp.
Loreena rose to fame as a talented singer, performer and multi-instrumentalist who has sold over fourteen million albums worldwide. Some of her most popular EPs are Live in San Francisco at The Palace of Fine Arts [live] (1995) and A Winter Garden: Five Songs for the Season (1995). She has also released some very popular albums including The Visit (1994), The Mask and Mirror (1994), The Book of Secrets (1997) and An Ancient Muse (2006). She also performed at the Carnegie Hall concert in support of the Golden Hat Foundation founded by Kate Winslet.
