Los Tigres Del Norte is a Mexican band that was formed in 1968 in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico. The founding members of the band were Jorge Hernandez (lead vocalist and accordionist), his brothers Hernan (bass, vocals), Eduardo (accordion, sax, bass, vocals), Luis (guitar, vocals) and their cousin Oscar Lara (drums).
Los Tigres Del Norte released their breakthrough hit album Contrabando y Traicion in 1972 which further dre much attention to their tracks. They rose to fame in 1986 after they won their first Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance for Gracias America…Sin Fronteras (1986). They also received several other nominations for Latin Grammys. Some of their well known singles include El celular/Cuando se Ilegal a viejo (1992), Quiero volar contigo (1998), Senor Locutor (2006), and Golpes en el Corazon (2011).
