Lou Diamond Phillips is an American actor and director born in the U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay in Olongapo, Zambales, Philippines on February 17, 1962. He is best known for his roles in the films La Bamba, Young Guns, Young Guns II, Courage Under Fire, The Big Hit, Che, The 33, and the television series Longmire. He made his acting debut in 1984 in the television movie Time Bomb and has since had roles in the films and television shows, Dallas, La Bamba, Miami Vice, Dakota, Stand and Deliver, Young Guns, The First Power, Shadow of the Wolf, Sioux City, Override, The Big Hit, The Outer Limits, Brokedown Palace, In a Class of His Own, Knight Club, A Better Way to Die, Wolf Lake, 24, Lone Hero, Absolon, Red Water, Murder at the Presidio, The Twilight Zone and many more. Phillips made his Broadway debut in 1996 as the King in the production The King and I. In the mid 1990s he was a vocalist for the rock group The Pipefitters. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won an Oxfam America Award, a Theater World Award, a Cinemanila Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and others.
