Louis C.K. Was born Louis Szekely on September 12, 1967 in Washington, D.C. He is a comedian, actor, writer, producer, director and editor. Early in C.K.’s career, he wrote comedy pieces for several shows in the 1990s and 2000s for high profile comedians such as David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Dana Carvey and Chris Rock. In addition, he directed several short films and starred in the HBO television sitcom Lucky Louie in 2006.
In 2012, C.K. won a Peabody award, and has also earned six Primetime Emmy Awards. C.K’s stand up special “Shameless” was ranked number three by Rolling Stone on their listing of the 25 best stand up specials and movies of all time, and in 2017, it ranked C.K. Number 4 of its list of the 50 best stand-up comics of all time.
