Louis Cole is a 32 year old American singer and instrumentalist for electronic jazz duo, Knower. Alongside Genevieve Artadi, the duo gained their fanbase through YouTube. Louis studied Jazz Studies at USC Thorton to enhance his abilities to play the drums, engineer and produce songs. Louis befriended Jack Conte from jazz YouTube sensation Pomplamoose, who encouraged him to release music online. Conte had also introduced him to Genevieve Artadi in 2009, together forming Knower. They are popularly known for their live sessions on YouTube having over 1 million views on several of their videos. Louis released his self-titled solo album, ‘Louis Cole’ in 2010 along with Knower’s first EP, ‘Louis Cole and Genevieve Artadi’. He released his second album, ‘Album 2’ in 2011. From 2011-2016, Louis Cole shifted his focus to Knower, releasing three albums within this period;‘Think Thoughts’ (2011), ‘Let Go’ (2013) and ‘Life’ (2016). In 2017, Knower produced a track for the Lego Ninjago movie titled ‘Dance of Doom’ with over 1 million plays on Spotify. Louis Cole has had a prolific career producing tracks for Thundercats album, ‘Drunk’ and opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His most recent album release, ‘Time’, was released under producer Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder in 2018.
