Louis Knight (born July 10, 2000 in London, England) is a British-born, Philadelphia-based pop and adult contemporary singer-songwriter most renowned for appearing on American Idol.
Knight demonstrated a genuine interest for music and singing when he was 14. Even then, Knight had started to compose his own melodies. Knight's career took flight after the release of his 2019 summer anthem "Just Kiss Me". In September 2019, Knight released his debut EP, titled “Small Victories”. His song “Change” is regarded as his most influential track on the EP. Shortly after the release of his EP, Knight was invited to compete in American Idol Season 18 where he achieved a Top 7 finish and won critical praise from American Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. He performed Elton John’s “Small Dancer”, his performance igniting the hearts of the audience and judges alike, and winning him ‘YES’ from the three judges.
Knight's October 2020 single, "Save A Little Love," demonstrates his evolution in songwriting, combining classic old school lyrics with modern rhythmic instrumentation. It also marked his first mixing collaboration with the 6-time Grammy Award winning engineer,, Michael Brauer. In 2020, Knight was ranked as a Top 20 Global Television Personality. He is associated with The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
