LP, born Laura Pergolizzi on March 18th, 1981 in Long Island, New York is an American singer and songwriter. In 2001 she released her debut album called Heart Shaped Scar through Koch Records. In 2004 LP released her second album called Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol on the label Lightswitch Records.
In 2006 she signed to the label Island Def Jam Music Group after an extensive bidding war. In 2007 she switched labels to SoBe Entertainment. She then wrote the song “Love Will Keep You Up All Night” for the Backstreet Boys which appeared on their Unbreakable album.
In 2010 she signed to the label 2101 Records. She co-wrote the song “Cheers (Drink to That)” for Rihanna. She also wrote the song “Beautiful People” for Christina Aguilera. In 2012 LP released her first major label album called Into the Wild: Live at EastWest Studios. In 2012 she was named Artist of the Week in Vogue magazine. In 2014 she released the album Forever for Now. 2016 brought about the album Lost on You.
