Lucky Chops is a jazz and funk band from New York, USA formed in 2006. The group broke out in 2014 after a video of their subway performance of Lips, Inc.'s song Funkytown and James Brown's song I Feel Good went viral on the internet. The intensity of the band’s energy is fueled by their desire to inspire others. The group was formed when they were students at Manhattan's famed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Even though the band was formed in 2006, members of the band changed every year and they finally solidified in 2016. Now members are Leo Pellegrino as baritone saxophonist, Josh Holcomb as a trombonist, Daro Behroozi as a tenor saxophonist, Kevin Congleton as the drummer, Joshua Gawel as a trumpeter, Raphael Buyo as a sousaphonist. After several EPs and the tour around India and Europe, they released their 2019 full-length debut album named Lucky Chops.
