Luis Gerardo Méndez is an actor and producer born on March 12, 1982, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He became prominent in 2013 when he starred in Gaz Alazraki's Nosotros Los Nobles. However, he is popular for starring as the lead and executive producing Netflix's first Spanish-language original comedy series Club de Cuervos.
Luis executive produced and starred as the lead in Focus Films' Half Brothers. He starred in Netflix's Bayoneta, earning an Ariel Award nomination for Best Actor for his role. He starred opposite Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in the Netflix original feature Murder Mystery. In 2017, he starred in and produced the Mexico City stage play Privacidad alongside Diego Luna.
Luis is the owner of the production company Cine Vaquero. He has featured in many advertising campaigns, including Verizon's Spanish-speaking ads, Pepsi, and Toyota Prius. He has supported the UN Refugee Agency since 2020. His acting credits include TimeShare, Charlie's Angels, Los Enviados, Narcos: Mexico, and Me Time. He has worked alongside Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, and Kristen Stewart. He won the 2015 Premio ACE Best Supporting Actor for Cantinflas.
