Lute is an American rapper born in 1989 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He entered the limelight of hip-hop as he joined the collective Forever FC with High I’m Ry and Jimmy Kelso, and in 2012 he made his debut with the mixtape “West 1996.” The rapper received critical acclaim and signed with J. Cole’s label Dreamville in 2015, and later that year he was featured on the compilatory “Revenge of the Dreamers II” with a solo track. In 2017 Lute returned to the scene with “Jugglin” and a sequel to “West 1992,” featuring the talents of EarthGang and Elevator Jay. In 2019 the rapper made a chart-topping collaboration with J. Cole and DaBaby for the third volume of “Revenge of the Dreamers,” and followed up with more stand-alone singles in 2020.
