Madison Cunningham is an American singer and songwriter who was born in 1996 in Costa Mesa, California, United States. She has four sisters and they were all born and raised in Costa Mesa, California.
Madison learned how to play the guitar when she was seven and she got started singing with her sisters in Church. As a teenager, she was already performing regularly and writing her own songs. Some of her early inspirations came from Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Buckley. Madison’s debut EP ‘Love, Lose, Remember’ was dropped in 2017 and it was produced by Tyler Chester. She followed up the next year with another EP ‘For the Sake of the Rhyme’ which opened her to performing in top shows in LA. She also toured with Punch Brothers which helped burgeon her fanbase. She also joined and performed regularly as a band member on the Chris Thile-hosted public radio show Live from Here.
Her debut album ‘Who Are You’ Now dropped in 2019 and it was also produced by Chester. The album was nominated in the Best Americana Album category of the 62nd annual Grammy awards.
