Mads Mikkelsen Bio

Mads Mikkelsen is a Danish actor born in Copenhagen, Denmark on November 22, 1965. He is best known in his home country of Denmark for his role as Tonny the drug dealer in the first two films of the Pusher trilogy and his role as Alan Fisher in the Danish television series Rejseholdet. He is known worldwide for his role as Tristan in the film King Arthur and his role as Le Chiffre in the James Bond film Casino Royale. Mikkelsen was a professional dancer for ten years before he started studying drama at the Aarhus Theatre School in 1996. He landed his debut role in film in 1996 in the movie Blomsterfangen and continued landing roles in the films Pusher, Bleeder, Flickering Lights, Monas verden, Open Hearts, The Green Butchers, King Arthur, Adam’s Apple, Exit, Cars, Flame & Citron, The Three Musketeers and others. In 2000 he made his debut on television in the series Rejseholdet and has since had roles in the shows Julie, Klovn, and Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Mikkelsen has also voiced characters in the video games 0-7: Quantum of Solace and Death Stranding. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won two Bodil Awards, seven Zulu Awards, a Fantasporto Award and more.
