Mae Martin is a Canadian stand-up comedian and television personality who was born on May 2nd 1987 in Toronto, Canada. She was born and raised in Toronto. Mae trained in improvisation and sketch comedy at the Toronto outpost of The Second City for four years. She famously receive her first Canadian Comedy Award nomination at 15 years old and also as the youngest ever nominee for the prestigious Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award.
Mae is famous for delighting viewers in a variety of specials on Comedy Central and other TV programs. She won the Canadian Screen Award for her writing on Canada’s CBC hit comedy series Baroness Von Sketch Show. Her stand-up show Dope was a hit and got nominated for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award, while it earned 4 and 5 star national reviews. She has also been awarded Best International Performer at the Brighton Fringe and has also been a finalist in The Hackney New Act of the Year Awards, The Musical Comedy Awards and the Amused Moose Laughter Awards.
