Mae Whitman is an American actress and singer. She was born Mae Margaret Whitman, on the 9th of June, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, U.S. She started her career by making her film debut in 1994, acting alongside Meg Ryan in “When a Man Loves a Woman”. Two years later, she appeared in two box-office movies “Independence Day” alongside Bill Pullman and “One Fine Day” alongside George Clooney. In the same year, she appeared in three episodes of “Friends”. In 1998 she co-starred with Sandra Bullock in the drama film “Hope Floats”. From 2004 to 2008, she starred on the series “Arrested Development”, besides making appearances in several popular television shows such as “Desperate Housewives” and “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit”. In 2009, she joined the main cast of NBC’s “Parenthood” and in 2012 she landed one of the main roles of “Perks of Being a Wallflower” alongside Ezra Miller, Emma Watson and Logan Lerman.
