Born Collin Nigel McPherson and raised in East Kingston Jamaica, Majah Hype is the oldest of three children. His parents later immigrated to the United States when he was 12 and moved to Boston. Majah learned how to read music and play up to seven instruments (including alto saxophone, trombone, and drums) from his grandfather. He also worked as an artist and DJ with Massive B, the famous New York City Sound System.
Majah has enjoyed sold-out stage shows and he’s regularly making headlines in comedy shows in the US, UK and the Caribbean. He also holds an annual sold-out show at the Kings Theater Brooklyn. He has performed on multiple shows including the BET, Hot 97, Power 105, and The Wendy Williams Show. Being a big ambassador of Caribbean culture earned him the title of King of Caribbean Comedy.
