Malik Ahmad Monk is an American professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard in the NBA. He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, United States, on February 4, 1998.
Malik spent his formative years playing for East Poinsett County High School, Bentonville High School, and the University of Kentucky, and he turned professional in 2017 when he was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the NBA Draft. He has since represented the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings, and throughout his time with the Kings, Malik played alongside Keegan Murray, De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and Davion Mitchell.
His career highlights include SEC Player of the Year, SEC Freshman of The Year, First-team All-SEC, and Mr. Basketball of Arkansas 2016.
