Mamie Gummer is an American actress born in New York City, New York on August 3, 1983. She is best known for her roles in the shows Emily Owens, M.D., The Good Wife, The Good Fight and for her roles in the films Evening, Side Effects, Ricki and the Flash and Cake. She made her debut in film at a young age in the film Heartburn in 1986. Gummer made her debut in film as an adult in 2006 in the movie The Hoax and continued landing roles in the films Evening, Stop-Loss, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, Taking Woodstock, Coach, The Ward, The Lifeguard, Side Effects Cake, and more. In 2003 she made her theater debut in the play The Laramie Project and has since had roles in productions of The House of Blue Leaves, Mr. Marmalade, The Water’s Edge, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Hunting and Gathering Uncle Vanya, Ugly Lies the Bone The Siegel and others. She made her debut on television in 2008 in the show John Adams and has also had roles in the shows The Good Wife, Off the Map, A Gifted Man, Elementary, Manhattan, The Collection, The Good Fight and more. In 2006 she won a Theatre World Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mr. Marmalade.
