Manu Bennett, born Jonathan Manu Bennett, is an actor who was born on October 10, 1969, in Rotorua, New Zealand. He was raised in Australia and later attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles, United States. He debuted as an actor in 1993 when starred in the teen drama series “Paradise Beach” alongside Megan Connolly and Robert Coleby. He then appeared in multiple series, including “Blue Heelers”, “Water Rats”, “Shortland Street” and “Street Legal”. In 2006 he participated in the movie “The Marine” starring John Cena and Kelly Carlson, which was followed by “The Condemned” and “30 Days of Night”, both in 2007. In 2011 he jumped to fame after playing Crixus in the TV series “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena” opposite John Hannah and Peter Mensah. Other important projects of his are in the TV series “Arrow” between 2013 and 2017 and “The Shannara Chronicles” alongside Austin Butler and Ivana Baquero between 2016 and 2017.
