Manuel Carrasco (popularly called Lolo and Manu) is a Spanish singer and actor who was born on January 15th, 1981 in Isla Cristina, Huelva, Andalucía, Spain. He was born to Jose Carrasco and Maria Galloso and grew up with four siblings. At age 11 he was gifted his first guitar, and he later auditioned and was selected for Operacion Triunfo TV show out of over 80,000 aspirants.
Quiereme, his debut album was produced by Miguel Angel Arena selling over 100k albums in the first week. It was certified double platinum. He later released a self-titled follow up then produced by Jordi Cristau. Cristau also co-produced his 2006’s Tercera Parada. In 2008 Mauel released Inercia recorded in Buenos Aires and produced by Cachorro Lopez. It netted double platinum status.
2012 saw the appearance of Habla, an album recorded in Milan and backed by the Rome Symphony Orchestra on three tracks. It was produced by Claudio Guidetti. La Cruz del Mappa followed in 2018. In March 2004 he represented Spain in the World Festival of Song in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
As an actor, Manuel is known for Operación triunfo (2001), Tú y yo (2014) and Memòries de la tele (2007).
