Manuel Medrano Bio
Manuel Medrano, born as Manuel Alejandro Medrano López, is a Colombian singer and songwriter who was born on October 29, 1987, in Cartagena de Indias. He learned to play the guitar at 16 years old, age in which he also began songwriting. He then began to play in different local bars, making a name for himself.
He also started uploading music to YouTube. He released his first song in 2015 and it was titled “Afuera del Planeta”. The song got very popular in Colombia and Warner Bros quickly signed the artist. He then released his most famous song to date titled “Bajo el Agua”, whose music video has over 100 million reproductions. His first full-length album was released in 2015 and was titled “Manuel Medrano”. He received two nominations at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards as Best New Artist and Best Singer-Songwriter Album, which he won both.
