Marcia Gay Harden is an American actress born August 14, 1959, in La Jolla (San Diego), California, USA. Her first film role was when she was a college student at the University of Texas in a student-produced film (1979). After college, her first film role was in Imagemaker (1986) where she played a stage manager. One of her bigger roles was in Miller's Crossing (1990), a 1930s mobster film where she appeared as Verna. After that, she appeared in the 1992 TV miniseries, Sinatra. In 1997, she starred alongside Robin Williams in the Disney comedy Flubber (1997). Harden was awarded Best Supporting Actress in 2000 Award Academy for her appearance as painter Lee Krasner in Pollock (2000). She was nominated for the same award in 2003 for the thiller Mystic River. In 2007 she appeared in Sean Penn's movie Into the Wild and, The Mist, a film based on the novella by Stephen King. In 2015, Marcia played Grace Trevelyan Grey in the film series Fifty Shades of Grey (2015 - 2018).
