Marco Masini is an Italian singer-songwriter, musician, and pianist who was born in the Tuscany area of Florence on September 18, 1964. Anna Maria, his mother, sang and played the piano and worked as an elementary school teacher before deciding to stay at home with the family.
In the early years of his career, he met Giancarlo Bigazzi, a record producer who introduced him to the music industry as a collaborator with musicians such as Raf and Umberto Tozzi. In 1990, he earned first place as the new artist of the year at the 40th edition of the prestigious Sanremo Festival with one of his signature songs, Disperato.
