Marcus Raishon Spears is a former American college and professional football player who has played as the defensive end in the National Football League for nine seasons. He was born on March 8, 1983, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he attended high school and university. While he attended high school, he was rated number one tight end prospect in America and the third-best overall prospect after earning All-America honors at his high school. During his college years, he played football at the Louisiana State University Tigers team and was named first-team Class 1A all-state selection on both the defense and the offense during his senior year. He also received second-team AII-America honors from Sports Illustrated. Marcus Spears also played basketball and was named one of the nation’s top basketball prospects.
