Margaret Atwood was born in Ottawa, Canada on November 18, 1939. She wrote more than 40 books. Her debut novel was The Edible Woman in 1969. She also wrote The Handmaid’s Tale which won the 1985 Governor General’s Award and the 1987 Arthur C. Clarke Award. Her book Blind Assassin won the Booker Prize. Another book Alias won Italy’s Premio Mondello and Canada’s Giller Prize.
She is also the author behind MaddAddam trilogy. The first book in the series Oryx and Crake was released in 2003. The Year of the Flood and MaddAddam followed in 2009 and 2013, respectively. She also wrote The Robber Bride, Cat’s Eye, and The Penelopiad. In 2015, she published The Heart Goes Last. She also worked with Johnnie Christmas, a graphic creator, for Angel Catbird.
