Marika Hackman, born Marika Louise Hackman on February 17, 1992 in Hampshire, England, is a folk rock and alternative rock singer-songwriter. She was raised in Selborne and Devon by her mother and Finnish father. She began writing songs at the age of five and taught herself to play the guitar at eight.
She was signed to her first record deal in 2012 with Transgressive Records and released the single “You Come Down.” She has since released four EPs and one full-length studio album. The EPs include Free Covers (2013), That Iron Taste (2013), Sugar Blind (2013), and Deaf Heat (2014.) Her debut full-length album We Slept at Last was released in 2015 by Dirty Hit Records. It peaked at #60 on the UK Charts.
