Marin Čilić is a professional tennis player born in Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on September 28, 1988. He made his professional debut in 2005. He won the 2005 French Open Boys' Singles Title. He has trained under Bob Brett (2004–2013), Goran Ivanišević (2013–2016), Jonas Björkman (2016–2017), and Vedran Martić (2020–2021). Ivan Cinkuš and Vilim Višak currently coach him.
Marin won silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the men's doubles with Ivan Dodig. His highest ranking in men's singles is number three (2018), and the men's doubles is 49 (2013). He won the 2016 ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati title and the 2018 Davis Cup for Croatia.
Marin has won 20 ATP Tour singles titles, including the 2014 US Open. He defeated Novak Djokovic at 2016 Paris and Rafael Nadal at the 2018 Australian Open. He received the 2016 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for Marin Cilic Foundation, which provides children with improved access to education. Marin received ATP ACES for Charity grants in 2015 and 2020 for his philanthropic work.
