Mario Andretti is a former racing driver born on 28th February 1940 in Italy. He is widely known for his outstanding career, where he won many races, including the World Sportscar Championship, NASCAR, IndyCar, and others. He won the IndyCar title four times, IROC VI, and the 1978 Formula One World Championship. He is currently the only driver who has won the Dayton 500, Indianapolis 500, and Formula One World Championship.
He went on to win a record 109 times on major circuits. Andretti also won the United States Driver of the Year in 1967, 1978, and 1984. His final win in IndyCar came in April 1993, becoming the first driver to win the race in 4 different decades. He has made a name for himself in American popular culture and has often been compared to Barney Oldfield.
