Mark David Duplass is an award-winning American actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer best known for his work in film and television. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, on December 7, 1976.
Mark began his filmmaking career in 1996 when he and his brother, Jay Duplass, formed the production company Duplass Brothers Productions. Mark and his brother have since made numerous films, including The Puffy Chair, The Skeleton Twins, and Safety Not Guaranteed.
As an actor, Mark’s filmography includes Tammy, Bombshell, The Lazarus Effect, People Like Us, and Zero Dark Thirty which features Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, and Mark Strong. Mark has won multiple awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, two BendFilm Festival Awards for Best Screenplay and Best Lead Actor – Male, and a Gijón International Film Festival Award for Best Actor.
