Marlo Thomas Bio

Margaret Julia Thomas, better known as Marlo Thomas, is an award-winning American actress, writer, and producer best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, United States, on November 21, 1937.

Marlo began her acting career in 1960 when she appeared in an episode of the TV series The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, but she became a household name five years later when she joined the cast of the comedy series That Girl. She has since had recurring roles in the TV series The Rocketeer, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, Happily Never After, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Friends, Frasier, Ally McBeal, and The Joey Bishop Show. Marlo’s filmography includes The Real Blonde, In the Spirit, Free to Be You and Me, Ultimate Betrayal, and Ocean's Eight, which featured Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Mindy Kaling.

Marlo has won multiple awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Special, a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Children's Programming – Performers, and a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children.
