Marsha Ambrosius is a UK-born singer, songwriter, and producer who began forging a name for herself as a much-sought-after songwriter. Among other credits, she wrote Michael Jackson’s top 20 hit “Butterflies.” Her step into singing began as one half of the R&B duo, Floetry. The duo released two albums together – Late Nights & Early Mornings, and Flo’ology – before Ambrosius branched off to begin her solo career.
Now based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ambrosius has released several albums as a solo artist, like 2007’s Neo Soul Is Dead, 2010’s Yours Sincerely, and 2014’s Friends & Lovers. Her 2011 album with Floetry reached #2 on the Billboard 200, and featured the top five R&B single, “Far Away.”
During her career, Ambrosius has collaborated with or written songs for numerous renown artists. A few of these include: Jamie Foxx, Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, Nas, Patti Labelle, Busta Rhymes, and Earth, Wind, & Fire.
