Martellus Bennett, born as Martellus Demond Bennett, on March 10, 1987, in Houston, Texas, is a former American football player and an author of books for children. He is the brother of the Dallas Cowboys defensive end Michael Bennett. Martellus Bennett started playing football during his high school days where he was named a three-year starter and two-time All-District and All-Greater Houston selection at tight end. He continued to play on the position of tight end during his college days, while he attended Texas A&M University. He was then drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. In 2018, Martellus Bennett has announced his retirement from the NFL. He has published a children’s book called Hey A.J. It’s Saturday in 2016.
